This illustration shows a scenario in which a failover has occurred and the directory server has been restarted. It has four components:
LDAP clients
Physical Node 1, which has failed
Physical Node 2 containing Directory Server Instance 1, Logical Host 1, Directory Server Instance 2, and Logical Host 2
A Shared Disk, which contains Database 1 and Database 2
The LDAP clients connect to both Physical Node 1, that is, the failed node, and Physical Node 2. Both physical nodes connect to the Shared Disk.
In Physical Node 2, Directory Server Instance 1 runs on Logical Host 1, and it connects with Database 1. Directory Server Instance 2 runs on Logical Host 2, and it connects with Database 2. A dotted line connects Directory Server Instance 1 with Directory Server Instance 2, indicating that these two directory server instances are in a replication agreement.
