This figure shows a broker configuration consisting of a primary site and a standby site. At the top of the figure, there is a terminal displayed to represent the user interfaces for managing the Data Guard environment: the Data Guard command-line interface and the Oracle Data Guard Manager graphical user interface. On the primary site, this figure shows the log transport services in addition to the following main components: the primary database, Oracle Data Guard monitor, the online redo logs, and the archived redo logs. The standby site includes the following components: a standby database, the log apply services, Oracle Data Guard monitor, archived redo logs, and standby redo logs. The figure also shows the online redo logs being archived to the standby sites and the Data Guard monitor processes communicating with each other over Oracle Net.
