The figure shows nodes in three tiers. The tiers are separated by firewalls.
In one tier, a node runs an Oracle database containing the OracleAS Metadata Repository. You install the OracleAS Metadata Repository first.
In the second tier, you have two nodes running Oracle Internet Directory and Oracle Directory Integration and Provisioning.
These nodes also have their own local storage. You install the Oracle home for these Oracle Identity Management components on the local storage of each node. The local storage also contains the inventory directory. You install the Oracle homes for these components next.
Both nodes in this tier are active. A load balancer directs requests to these nodes.
In the third tier, you have two nodes running Oracle Delegated Administration Services and OracleAS Single Sign-On.
Each node has its own local storage. You install the Oracle home for these Oracle Identity Management components on the local storage of each node. The local storage also contains the inventory directory. You install the Oracle homes for these components last.
Both nodes are active. A load balancer directs requests to these nodes.
