IX. REGIONAL ROCK MECHANICS SYMPOSIUM

IXth Turkish Rock Mechanics Symposium is planned to be held between 30-31th October 2008 in Izmir, Turkey. The symposium is jointly organized by the Geological and Mining Departments of the Dokuz Eylül University at the university's Tinaztepe Campus. Papers are invited on all topics within the scope of rock mechanics.

Venue

Dokuz Eylül University, Engineering Faculty Conference Hall, Tinaztepe Campus-Izmir, Türkiye.

Language

Official languages of the symposium are Turkish and English.

Invited speakers

The event is planned to cover keynote lectures by well known scientists and professionals in the field of rock mechanics on emerging problems, new approaches and current developments.

Tours

Trips to local rock structure and historical places will be organized. Details will be announced on the symposium’s web site.

Exhibition

In conjunction with the symposium, an exhibition will be organized for companies offering machinery, equipment, instruments, software and services to the rock mechanics related industries.
