International Congress on Coastal and Marine Tourism 2005 will be held in Cesme in 15-18 November 2005 as a result of the cooperation reached by Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Business, Dokuz Eylül University School of Maritime Business and Management and Oregon State University.
The main purpose of this congress is to create an environment for discussions and exchanging views on exploring the challenges of managing coastal and marine resources and developing tourism in the coastal zone in a sustainable way.
Surrounded by the sea in three directions, Turkey is a treasure chest of coastal and marine tourism. The province of Izmir, especially the southern tip of the Ces me peninsula is one of the primary marine tourism areas in the country.
The organizers are the leading institutes in their fields. Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Business and School of Maritime Business and Management are the leading higher education institutes in tourism and maritime business disciplines in Turkey. Oregon State University has been the organizer of two previous international marine tourism congresses, namely the World Congress on Coastal and Marine Tourism 1996 in Hawaii, USA and the International Symposium on Coastal and Marine Tourism 1999 in Vancouver, Canada.
With the purpose of increasing the quality and scientific content of the event, the Congress is expected to be attended by distinguished participants with their significant contributions in the field of coastal and marine tourism.
