Our Mission
Dokuz Eylul University School of Maritime Business and Management
is specialized in undergraduate and graduate education in the fields of
logistics transportation
and business administration as well as in preparing officers for the merchant
fleet within the context of maritime related interests of Turkey and the
philosophy of total quality and environment management. The school is responsible
for
performing economic research in the related disciplines as well as providing
the industry
with training and consultation. The fundamental aim is to provide the students
with critical thinking, self-discipline and managerial and leadership qualification
with this respect involving all of the employees and improving the quality
of work life are the basic principles.

1988-1989 51 students were admitted to the Department of
Maritime Business and Management

1994-1995 First girls admitted to the School

1994-1995 31 students admitted to the Deck Department

1997-1998 Total of 300 graduates from the Dept. of Maritime
Business Management

1998-1999 First graduates of the Deck Department

1999-2000 First girl admitted to Deck Department

2000-2001 School of Maritime Business and Management is
granted the ISO 9002 Quality Management System Certificate
by Italian Naval Registry
(RINA) and
Italian Certification of Quality Systems.
