Department of Nautical Science
The aim of the department which is located at both Urla and Týnaztepe, is to educate ocean-going masters. It is verified by the Turkish Prime Ministry Undersecretariat of Maritime Affairs that the department’s curriculum is in compliance with the International Maritime Organization (IMO)’s STCW’95 Convention. Students take theoretical lectures and practical training on land for 3,5 years (7 semesters) and realise the seagoing phase for a total of 12 months. Graduates are granted the right of taking the “Ocean-going Chief Officer Exam”. The Department applies Active Learning and student centered, integrated and modular Problem Based Learning and Task Based Learning.
Department of Maritime Business Administration
Department is located at Týnaztepe. Curriculum is based on related majors in the USA and UK. Graduates take part in the maritime industry effectively and have the opportunity to be employed internationally. The Department applies Active Learning and student centered, integrated and modular Problem Based Learning.
