Choreoathetoic movements following Renal Transplantation. MRI findings

The 44 years old, male patient who had had a renal transplantation 3 years ago, and had been under immunsuppressive treatment since then; was admitted with disphagia, disarthria, difficulty in walking, weakness and choreoathetoic movements.

He has been hospitalized and examined thoroughly. Cranial MR disclosed bilateral symmetrical lesions in the pons and basal ganglia. The clinical and MR findings, together were found consistent with central pontine and extrapontine myelinolysis.
