The prevalence of the Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease in Turkey is unkown. We reviewed nine cases reported in the Turkish neurologic literature of the last 10 years, and described two new cases. The relative rarity of reported cases suggests the missed diagnosis of the patients with Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease. This should be due to the negligence of characteristic clinical features of the disease and the lack of routine autopsy practice.
