The isolated medial medullary syndrome is very rare. Atherosclerosis of the vertebral arteries is the most predominant etiological factor. Arterial embolism and dissection of the vertebral arteries are less frequent causes. In this paper, a case with medial medullary syndrome due to presumably vasculitis were reported and related recent literature reviewed.
