We report a girl with acquired partial lipodystrophy. The lipodystrophies are characterized by generalized or partial loss of body fat. In generalized lipodystrophy essentially all body fat is lost, while in partial lipodystrophy fat atrophy is limited. Acquired partial lipodystrophy is the most common of lipodystrophies and usually affects women. Fat atrophy occurs in the upper half of the body, including the face, but spares the lower extremities. We consider that she has partial lipodystrophy of the face because of the overall features of the lesions.
