Is the cell motile...?

Only a few filamentous microorganisms in activated sludge are motile. Beggiatoa spp., Flexibacter spp., and some blue - green bacteria (Cyanophyceae) are motile by gliding; Thiothrix spp., and Type 021N may display limited "twitching" or swaying motions.
