Organized Activities
International Exhibition “Visions in Textiles” From Tradition to Textile Art/Design of Tomorrow, 13th ETN Conference and Workshop activities are taking place in Izmir between the dates of 15-17 September, 2005. Organizers are ETN together with the Dokuz Eylül University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Textile Design Department in Izmir. Ms. Suhandan Özay, Professor and Head of the Textile, Fashion Accessories' Department of the Fine Arts Faculty, Dokuz Eylül University, Izmir, and also the ETN coordinator of Turkey.
The 4th of the Original Shoe Design Competition is organized the previous year with the cooperation of DEU. Faculty of Fine Arts, Textile Department, Fashion Accessories Design Program and Ege AYSAD. The competition prepared traditionally is planned to carry on.
Fashion Apparel Design Major presented its latest annual fashion show, theme as ‘BAZAAR’ in Ismet Inönü Art Center on 08 June 2004.
University - Industry Association
The common aim of the DEU Faculty of Fine Arts, Textile Department, Fashion Accessories Design Program and Ege AYSAD is to provide the development of the improvement of shoe design and production. For this common aim, the two establishments are working together from the date 1998.
From the year 2004 on, Leather and Leather Products Exporters Union of Aegean Exporters Union provides the participation of the Fashion Accessories Design Program Lecturers in the fairs abroad such as leather, leather products and shoes.
In the year 2000, with the support of Izmir Traders Chamber and Izmir Goldsmiths Chamber; the Fashion Accessories Design Program jewellery studio is supported technically and an improved working environment is provided.
There is trainer student program to improve technical knowledge and professional experience at the Textile Printing Factories like Taç Linen Zorlu Holding, Universal Engraving, Batı Basma, Değirmenci Group, Ayboy and Delta Textile.
III. Competition of Design call as “Set of Sleeping” organized this year is planned to be held traditionally. This competition is arranged by Zorlu Holding in cooperation with the departments of textile in Turkey.

Educational Seminars and Conferences to Industry Members: Assoc Prof Fatma Mete gives several industry specific seminars to the Apparel Manufacturing Companies in Izmir and Istanbul.
