TKA 557- 558 Contemporary Textile and Fashion Tendencies and Development Parameters I-II: (Prof. Suhandan Özay Demirkan)
Fashion is a socail, economic and psychologic phenomen for ages. From 90's up to date the variations and improvement in different disciplines is to be examined from the points of industry and arts.

TKA 561-562 Textıle Pattern Hıstory I-II: (Assist. Prof. Füsun Özpulat)
Dealing with the mimics of various natural symbols, such as plants and animals, various and rich technical and sembolic embellishments.  Covers how the machinery effected the textile design and patterns at  the industrial revolution and afterwards when the machienery influenced the human life totally.  Deals with the art and design approach rising along with the invention of machine.

TKA 523-524 Design and Industrial Development of Authentic and Modern Accessories I-II: (Prof. Suhandan Özay Demirkan) Theoretical studies and prototype practices in the contemporary adaptations of jewels as traditional and modern accessories from the points of material, production and design.

TKA 563 Turkish Leather Art and Accessories: (Prof. Suhandan Özay Demirkan)
Functional and aesthetic leather products, local and original shoes, saddler works and other accessories. Theoretical, practical and research.

TKA 527-528 New Tendencies in Textile Surface Designs I-II: (Assist. Prof. Füsun Özpulat)
Covers the aesthetics analysis of various textile surface design techniques.  Analyses of old textile swatches in relation to their aim and functionality, compares with up to date fabric swatches and examines the new tendencies in fabric surface design.

TKA 529 -530 The Relations Between Contemporary Art Movements and Textile Design  I - II: (Assist. Prof. Cemal Meydan)
Social and art changes started with the industrilization.Contemporary art movement and design. The relation between cotemporary art movements and textile design during passing period from traditional production to mass production. The relations between contemporary art movements and textile design from Bauhaus today.

TKA 537-538 Fashion, Production and Marketing Methods I - II: (Assoc. Prof. Fatma Mete) The changing world of fashion, the business of fashion, design and production of fashion products and fashion marketing methods.   Examination the role of the fashion marketing in textile and apparel firms. Contemporary issues in fashion marketing and the design and product development processes in marketing perspective.  The key topics, such as strategic planning, PD, pricing, market research and consumer expectations.

TKA 541 Design Tendencies in Applied Arts (in German): (Prof. Suhandan Özay Demirkan)
Examination of design ecoles and designers influenced by the periods in applied arts; color, tendencies and necessities in different cultures.

TKA 543- 544 Computer Aided Fashion Accessories Product Design I-II:
Realizing the product designs of fashion accessories by computer aided design in order to provide the perception in 3 dimentional approach.

TKA 565-566 Design and Production Methods in Contemporary Fabric Design I-II: (Assoc. Prof. Nesrin Önlü)
In contemporary fabric design, relation between design and technology, creativity and functional dimension of this relation, the effect forms on design processes and what the fashion effect happens in this processes.  In contemporary design, fabric structure, texture and design relations, fabric designs and product methods, the place in fabric design and product  proceses of  the new technologies, the innovations which  this processes is brought, the contributions on this processes of fashion design.

TKA 567 Computer Aided Fashion Clothing Design: (Assoc. Prof. Fatma Mete) The computer aided design and presentation of fashion products using advanced CAD systems such as Gerber Garment Technologies(GGT) Artworks Studio and various PC based vector and raster graphical softwares. Students design garments and develop their abilities to efficiently create original ideas and designs on various computer platforms.
TKA 568 Product Development in Clothing Design: (Assoc. Prof. Fatma Mete) Consumer focused design and product development of a fashion product or collection. Exploration and comparison current and new clothing design and product development techniques by incorporating with fabric selection, draping, pattern making, construction and finishing. The theoretical and practical construction knowledge in transforming new design ideas into products, considering the design elements and principles.

TKA 570 Development Phases of Tapestry Art and Thecniques: (Prof. Suhandan Özay Demirkan)
Tapestry concept and etimology, first known samples, neolithic period and Anatolian design alphabet, ancient age, the improvements from the middle age to 1960's, the artistic activities in Turkey and the world, Tapestry techniques and design characteristics (double weaving, aubusson and the other basic techniques)

TKA 572 20th Century Design and Product Parameters: (Prof. Suhandan Özay Demirkan)
Developing design concept from the beginning of the 20th century to the last period; the study of the designers and ecoles influenced by the periods. Product design connections and application ways of methodologies.
