TEM 105.6 Basic Art Education
Students explore the principles drawing and design of two-dimensional design and creative thinking for the designer and, including the study of line, shape, color, positive and negative space, texture, and composition. Course offers students learn the visual language of color, texture and form to express their thoughts, observations, and emotions.

TEM 115.6 History of General Art I
Presents the history of art and civilization from the Ancient periods, Mesopotamia, Egypt, Greek and Roman Civilizations, in the context of cultural history. Explores painting, sculpture and architecture in relation to pertinent religious, political, economic and social conditions.

TEM 143.4 Textile History
Examines the history of textiles from antiquity to the present time, and includes significant developments in the style, technology and function of textiles. Surviving evidence and representations of textiles in the arts and literature are considered. Examines important manifestations of textile and its context in a selection of world cultures, emphasizing the Anatolian and Ottoman arts and design in textiles.

TBT 101 Information Technology
This course offers the basic knowledge of computer use of table top computers and the collection of tools that make it easier to use, create, manage and exchange information. Introduction to computer systems, software and basic applied design programmes.

TEK 141.2 Textile Materials
Covers the classification and definition of the textile materials, their properties and production techniques. Technology of textile properties, end-uses, modern and high performance textiles and new fiber trends are also covered in detail.

TEK 145.6 Basic Fabric Knowledge
Covers the classification and definition of fabrics, their structures, properties and production techniques, with the emphasize on the fundamentals of materials, production techniques, constructions and performances. Fabric characteristics such as appearance, drapability, hand and performance are also studied as they effect aesthetics and end-use performance.

TEK 148 Introduction to Textile Printing
Examines the textile printing methods in the historical process, starting from the hand dying and printing methods to the current printing technology. Includes screen making, color mixing, and printing techniques.

TEK 110 Textile Design Methods
This course focuses on textile design methods, basic design terms, design stages, design elements and principles of design. Students explore the design potential found in geometry and in nature. Painted patterns and designs applicable to fabrics, surfaces, and related areas of applied design are created with emphasis on color, balance, and proportion

Historical development of costumes from is ancient till contemporary the goal of surpassing the simple chronicle of changing styles to explore the meaning of fashion in the broadest possible context.

TEM 215.6 History of General Art II
Presents the history of fine arts beginning from the early Christian era, Byzantium, Middle Age in Europe, Islam, Rome and Gothic Periods; the presentation and evaluation of cross cultural influences during 11 – 13th century in Anatolian Turkish Arts, Renaissance and Classical Ottoman Arts. Explores painting, sculpture, and architecture in relation to pertinent religious, political, economic and social conditions.

TEM 221 Perception Philosophy
This course aims to introduce students to contemporary philosophy of perception. The objective of the course is to provide students with an overview of the perception philosophy concerning the nature of art. It addresses such matters as the color, form and visual perception and color theories.

TEM 222 Visual Perception
Covers the visual perception, color methodology and form perception in visual arts. It will address such matters as the relationship between art and truth, the appropriate criteria of art criticism, the distinction between art and non-art, and the nature of aesthetic values.

TEM 223.4 Philosophy of Art
Considers the philosophy of art and the logical structure of criticism. Presents a group of problems arising from description, interpretation and evaluation of aesthetic objects, with special emphasis on the visual arts.

TEB 203.4 Textile Printing Design I
Exploring new artistic and technological possibilities for all types of surfaces and fabrics. This course provides students with the core skills and hands-on training to create original patterns and designs that are used in virtually every segment of the apparel, home fashions, and related industries.

TEB 202 History of Textile Prints and Patterns
Printing patterns used in textiles are explored in chronological sequence, starting from ancient times to the present time.

TEB 203 Textile Printing Technology
This course involves the technical principles and properties of the machineries used for transformation of textile designs in to the industrial products.

TEK 207.8 Textile Dyeing and Finishing
Covers the textile pretreatments, dyeing, printing, finishing processes applied on grey cloth/raw materials. It also covers the classification and properties of textile dyestuffs, the preparation of dyeing liquors and printing pastes, dyeing and finishing machinery, new and Eco-friendly dyeing and finishing technologies and their applications at the textile mills.

TEB 205 Hand Printing
It studies the decoration of textile surfaces by hand via block printing, such as wooden blocks , linol etc.

TEB 206 Textile Repeat Techniques
The introduction and applications of textile repeat techniques through technical analysis of the original designs. Professional methods of designing printing patterns, repeats, and color combinations are explored.

TEK 331.2 Fashion & Textile Marketing
Examines the role of the fashion marketing in textile and apparel firms. Deals with contemporary issues in fashion marketing and the design and product development processes in marketing perspective. Covers the key topics, such as strategic planning, PD, pricing, market research and consumer expectations.

TEM 315.6 History of General Art History III
Deals with art in Europe, Turkey and other cultures in 18th, 19th, 20th centuries, emphasizing the Barock and Rococo art in the west and its influences on Turkish Art.

TEB 303.4 Textile Printing Design II
Involves experimentation in a variety of materials and mixed media, techniques, and textures to create original and simulated designs for fabrics. Students create original patterns and designs that are used in virtually every segment of the apparel, home fashions, and related industries, by exploring new artistic and technological possibilities for all types of surfaces and fabrics.

TEB 349 Woven Design
Introduces students to the principles of weaving design and designing woven fabrics on table and floor looms. Through planning and executing fabric samples, students learn how fiber, color, and structure are interrelated in woven design. Covers physical and aesthetics design, the connections of design with fabric structure and texture.

TEB 352 Apparel Design
Basic understanding of fundamental apparel design procedures and their application to current trends are established. Students develop original designs incorporating fabric selection, pattern drafting, construction and finishing, and employing sample room procedures.

TEB 305 Hand Dying
This course concentrates on the traditional techniques of the textile fabric dying and decoration. Explores use of hand dyed and painted fabrics for home furnishings, fashion, and studio applications.

TEM 306 Colorways in Printing
This course covers the color variants and separation procedures in industrial textile printing.

TEB 315.6 Computer Aided Printing Design I
Employing advanced computer technology, students design print patterns and develop their ability to efficiently create original ideas. Using CAD systems and Adobe Photoshop, students scan images and create original designs, repeats, colorways, and coordinates targeting specific markets. Emphasis is on creative use of the software, awareness of industry trends, and the development of an original portfolio of digitally produced designs.

TEK 425 Contemporary Textile Art
Contemporary textile art, conceptual and technical changes and developments in nowadays textile design. Concentrates on various textile design techniques such as woven textiles, fiber art, surface design, fashion practical etc. It involves the examination of international and Turkish textile arts as well
Students search a variety of materials and techniques that are used to create wall hangings, sculptural forms, home furnishing, fashion accessories, etc.

TEK 443 Business Law
Business environment in the world and our country and terms encountered in practical, social and economical business relationships. Relationships between workers and employers and their rights in business law and constitution. Code of conducts, environment and workers health are discussed as well.

TEK 445 Methodology
Terms of basic scientific and research methods are discussed. Scientific research periods and basic stages of scientific research are covered. Gathering information techniques, enquiries, dissertation preparation rules, formats etc. are also taught.

TEK 460 Graduation Project
Based on a specific research topic, students research, design, and execute a project and prepare a thesis and a product line, under a supervision of a dedicated faculty of design professional.

TEB 403.4 Textile Printing Design III
Students create original painted designs for printed fashion fabrics. Professional methods of designing patterns, repeats, and color combinations are explored using transparent watercolor (dyes) and mixed media. Emphasis is on developing original design concepts and exploring industry standards.

TEB 407.8 Computer Aided Printing Design II
Using Adobe Photoshop, students scan images and create original designs, repeats, colorways, and coordinates targeting specific markets. Emphasis is on creative use of the software, awareness of industry trends, and the development of an original portfolio of digitally produced designs.

TEB 409 Collection Development
Using a specific theme or season, students learn the principles of line building by designing and producing a collection of printed fashion fabrics. Emphasis is on color, repeats, workmanship, fabrication and execution of designs by developing a collection for a specific target market.

TEB 404 Project Work
Students are required to make an intensive research and practical works on a specialized topics on printed textiles and apparel fashion fabrics.

TEB 405 Free Style Printing
Various printing techniques on textile surfaces and their experimental applications are studied.

TEB 406 Portfolio
It covers the basic principles of portfolio presentations and how to prepare professional portfolios. Students prepares their individual artistic, technical and practical works in portfolio format.
